September 2nd, 2018, an usual weekend became special for this meaning trip.
Zhang Shuqin, the founder of Sun Village was a previous senior officer in China’s prison system. Also being a reporter, she witnessed the cruel reality ---- the severe and heartbreaking living conditions of the prisoners’ children. In 1996, she resolutely gave up the job of the national civil servants and actively participated in the cause of helping these children.
Since the establishment of the first Sun Village in Sanyuan County, Shaanxi Province, Ms. Shuqin and her team have built 9 Sun Villages across China. So far, the Sun Village team has helped more than 10,000 children and offered financial help to more than 3,000 prisoners’ children in different places, who aren’t living in Sun Village.
Walk with love
Grandma Zhang’s tireless goodness and charity to these children not only offers relief and hope to their parents in prison, but also delivers her personal hope on raising those vulnerable and innocent children. She hopes through practical efforts, they can get ride of shadows and burdens from their parents and grow into well-educated, self-sufficient and dedicated talents in the society.
Impressed by Grandma Zhang’s kindness and persistence for years, we have organized the “Let hearts get closer and love go further” public welfare activity, which is also another practice of our years of dedication in public benefits.

Set out with love.
One September 2nd, we gathered together at Vantone center at 8:30am and set out with full of love and expectations.
Many people brought their babies as well. Along with laugh and happiness, we got to the site after one-and-a-half- hour trip—Sun village, Banqiang village, Zhao Quanying Town, Shunyi district, Beijing.
We first sorted out the donated materials, many boxes of clothing, stationery and toys representing a sincere love from ADAO. We hope these simple and plain gifts can bring some caring and warmness to these children.
We got to know the history and development of Sun Village by watching the document video. Grandma Zhang’s persistence and selfless love for the past 24 years was so touching and we all cried. Comparing to the great and kind Goddess, we all felt as inferior as sand.
Mr. Jia, the CEO of ADAO also delivered a speech at the donation ceremony. The earnest words were also our deepest feelings.
Members of ADAO also spoke up, expressing their sincere feeling and willingness to offering.
Special gratitude given by those innocent and pure kids touched our hearts the most.
Led by Sun Village staff, we visited the Sun Village. We went to the fruit garden to pick the grapes. We can’t believe these sweet fruits were planted and cared by the children. Everyone bought some to express our love. We know these fruits have different tastes.
We came back after much affect and laugh.

For a long time, we have been dedicated to profession. But today’s experience on offering for no rewards let us feel greater happiness, since it makes us feel being part of the selfless practice.
Doing goodness is not one single action. It needs long-term effort. The seeds planted today will grow into trees and even forests in the future. Let’s keep working on it! In the future, we will carry out more public welfare activities, contribute to the development of society, help others and to let love go further!
